Random things from Taipei! / Coisas várias de Taipei!

May 12, 2016

This time we were not so lucky, like in Kaohsiung, with Airbnb. The house was really small, not so clean and full of mosquitos (we wonder how they could get in, since all was closed and we spent all the time using spray for bugs). Teresinha loved the house, it was Hello Kitty all over the place. Even in such a small house they managed to have a Hello Kitty bigger than her! The laundry room they had downstairs was very useful ... we missed a washing machine and a dryer!

We went more than once to Din Tai Fung, what a great restaurant. Food is delicious and it’s not expensive. We went 1st to the one on Taipei 101 tower, because we wanted to go all the way up, but it was so expensive that we decided just to look at it from below (we've seen Taipei from above before). We found another Din Tai Fung next to our place so off course we had to try it again.

We went to the very well known Longshan temple. When we got there a celebration was going on and Francisco was asking what was happening. We told him it was like mass and he started to question where Jesus was and why there were no crosses anywhere. And there he learned that there are other religions and beliefs!

What we like the most is to walk around the cities, no where to go, just look around and observe the places and the people. We do that a lot everywhere we go. In Taipei we did some of the touristic stuff but we spent most of the time just wondering around different neighbourhoods and tried different night markets.

Do you know the cool taiwanese brand Jump from Paper? Their bags and backpacks are so cool, they look like cartoons. I had to buy one! It’s a little too pink but Teresinha can use it also when she gets bigger that the backpack ;-)

Conheçem a marca Jump from Paper?
Walking around with the kids  always takes longer... they want to stop in every "machine" or whatever this is called. And there are some in every corner! This time we let Francisco play ;-)
